Hi, this my 1st answer in my 1st group, & I don't think this is a quick answer, voting-type forum, so I'll just say this: I am a recovering alcoholic, w/ almost 15 months sober, & this disease is TRULY insidious & deadly. I've seen it kill, and I've seen it destroy. It almost did both to me. Some will say, "No, YOU did all that to yourself.", but I know that's not so. Look, I have no scientific data, surveys, or studies to present. The only case studies I'm familiar with are mine, and those of others in recovery. I have a mental obsession combined with a physical compulsion, & I always will. I AM granted a 'daily reprieve contingent on my spiritual condition', meaning I have to be honest, open-minded, & willing to do what's suggested to me by others in recovery. I have to change my way of thinking, & in turn how I behave... I'm sorry, I've gone on far too long, & I'm not even sure I answered the topic in the correct format! Please feel free to message me anytime. God Bless.

I admire your courageous honesty. Seems your faith is what has helped you, i've heard of this many times before were individuals have managed to turn their life around with direction through faith.

I don't belong to any religious/spiritual group. I'm not religious myself, but i do have the wisdom to value & respect of many of their common moral teachings..

Keep up the good work and please add any further tips to help others..
