If you can´t train it then give it away to someone who can. Putting the dog down is an absolute last resort.

Desensitize the dog. You need to show him that his hair being pulled, a hand in his mouth or even a tail pull isn't cause to bite. Play with him and make sure to reward him when he doesn't bite back. I recommend a small vita-bone or other small treat. Even a different brand of dog food that you use just for treats. The trick with dogs is rewarding not scolding. Try not to use the dogs name when scolding either or he'll relate his name to that. But use his name when rewarding him or her for doing a good job. Their is nothing that you can't train a dog to understand. Just be patient.

How exactly do you train a dog who just bit the trainer who was giving him a treat at the time? Would you be so kind as to beging a legal defense fund for me, and while you are at it, I will be needing a support group to get rid of the guilt because Precious disfigured a child

I especially agree with the part about giving the dog away if it can't be trained. Some dogs just don't do well with kids, or in unfamiliar situations. Maybe a home with less stimulation and no kids would be best for your pet. Not to mention safer for your toddler.
