I get quite nerdy about finding slim/thin papers..

Never could get a decent looking spliff done until I started licking the papers after I'd finished rolling the whole thing. The only downside to it is, if the sticky is on the wrong side you won't notice for a while and the whole thing falls apart on you when you least expect it. One for the gods.. :-)
