Questions are simply a form of communication. If you have nothing to hide then why discourage a question?

the "if you have nothing to hide" argument is weak and ultimately self-defeating. everyone has something they want to hide, but furthermore the claim that "if you have nothing to hide" then you should partake in an activity (be it answering a question or submitting to a police search) is opening the door to a breach of rights.
also you need to include an image when you post an answer, or do you have something to hide?
Why are you insulting me when all I did was ultimately express my opinion?
it was not my intent to insult you if that is what you read into my comment. my intent was to comment on your answer.
on grupthink there is a process by which we are allowed to comment on answers in addition to voting (or not) for them. i used this process to express my opinion on your answer and the answer description you provided.
your answer used a phrase that i have heard innumerable times and have always detested. this forum gave me ample opportunity to voice an opinion on that phrase.
you are, of course, free to disagree with my assessment and open a discourse if you do not like my opinion on this matter. or you could mod my comment down (or up) using the little thumbs next to my comment.

I think having something to hide is not the only reason why questions remain unasked.
What is acceptable in one medium is not necessarily in another. It is easy to remain reasonably anonymous online (so hiding things is not such an issue), but the audience you reach is so varied that what you say may very well reach the wrong person.
For instance if I were to ask what your favourite suicide method was you'd probably just think I was a morbid freak, but someone who is actually considering taking their own life may use such a topic as a platform to research methods in detail.
