Your answer is very categorical, and doesn't appear to be limited to the US military. Are you suggesting that it's immoral for nations to train and use military forces, even if for purely defensive purposes?
Practically speaking I'd say that it is NOT immoral for a nation to train for self defense, so long as their defense training does not outweigh their education. I train for self defense with a wooden Katana and Nun-Chucks.
Creatively, I say that once you open the portal and call the demons of Military to fulfill spells of violence. The demons run ramped in the world, and possess those touched by the wands of Raytheon.
