While I like Asimov the most still, Frank Herbet did a fabulous job with the Dune series.

Actually, I've already read Dune. It wasn't too bad, but it didn't inspire me to read the sequel.

My favourite book of all time. Clever, insightful, mind-expanding. Pretty good story too.

The sequels sucks though unfortunately.
