Eclipse is an open source IDE project that can be used for all sorts of development. I have been using the elcipse IDE for 2+ years now and love it. Very well done.

Truly one of the most valuable programming resources I have ever encountered. It is powerful, and easy to use. It is a shame it does not support more languages in the way it does Java. I can only hope that the open source community will work to fix this problem and bring the virtues of eclipse to other languages.

I agree. While there are plugins and support for other languages like C/C++ and even some web languages like PHP, they are not up to the same level of support as Java... but hopefully they will continue to grow and develop over time to meet the same level of utilization.
