What would make this any different from any other television station? isn't the point of podcasts that YOU get to pick and choose the content that interests YOU, and have it delivered to your device automatically. If we encourage top down distribution like television, we're back in the exact same boat we started in!
For some reason I and quite a few other people find clicking a remote control button easier than clicking a mouse button. The tough part is finding the damn remote!
I guess the point I'm trying to make is that this would make Podcasts accessible to quite a few more people. I agree that the internet is a mutch better transmission means. But there are still Technophobes (Internetophobes?) and plenty of horible internet connections which prevent podcasts from reaching people.
I'm not concerned with HOW people get the content - What worries me that if something like this were done, it would be its very nature have to be a top-down distribution model - The "podcast" channel's owner would be the person deciding what I were to see, which kinda defeats the whole purpose of podcasts in the first place.
I guess what I'm wondering is how would this be any different than Fox News, or Comedy Central?

Ah... and then sell advertising to the big commercial podcasts. Once the idea of podcasts gathers more traction I could see this working.
