It's a cheap way to get the attention of drivers listening to the radio. It's also a good way to cause an accident. Worse, I've heard some ads using "screeching tires + honking" sound effects to really get your head swinging. Ban this now!

I've never heard of it myself... (probably because I rarely listen to the radio)
But you're right. It ought to be a freakin' felony.
Also, sounds in songs that sound like ambulances, fire engines etc.
