It's one thing to change your mind. It's another leave out facts. It's another to distort/package/market the facts. But to purposefully tell an untruth to your constituents... that should be illegal.

It should be illegal in political settings. It would, however, be impossible to enforce in most cases.
I find it especially irritating when people intentionally break campaign promises...
That's directly and undeniably against all notions of democracy. At the very least, there should be a very public account of all politicians' lies.
