It's not about him being gay... it's about his power making sense. Quicksilver is always portrayed as having his power being 100% biological. He's simply an animal that can run fast. Which is pretty lame.

Northstar's speed is energybased, and sensible. He's like a human skytrain. The legs are just for balance. Way cooler. Way.

Also: Quicksilver isn't superfast anymore and Northstar is.

Actually, Quicksilver is so fast he travels through time and can have multiple versions of himself called up at any one time.

One downside of Northstars abilities is that his light generating power only works when he is touching his sister Aurora.
