Answer for: Cast the Wheel of Time movie.
#5 Donald Sutherland as Thom Merrilin
I honestly can't picture anyone better for this role. Grand gestures, booming voice, moodiness, he's got the total package here. And can you see him blowing out his long mustaches?

Brilliant, his voice alone would land him the partof course all he has to do is "pretend" to be the person he's supposed to be acting like, LOL
P.S. If you think that last bit was out of the blue look for him on the show extras on youtube
Ahhh... that was Sir Ian McKellan in Extras mate! Who, btw, would make a way better Thom!
I dunno. I don't see the Queen hookin' up with some Don Sutherland.
*shrug* Maybe it's just me.
Back in the day? I can see that.
He almost looks like Thom in that picture...ya i think he'd be a great Thom Merrilin. and the whole thing with the queen happened a while before the books started so its kinda not important.
Just because it happened prior to the books doesn't mean that it shouldn't be taken into consideration.
what im getting at is it happened maybe 10-15 years before the books, he'd have changed quite a bit, remember he was run out of the city when Elayne was still a kid and shes 19-20 ish now. people do age,
*nod*
True true. I guess I just couldn't get the image of the older Donald Sutherland out of my head. I was able to find a younger picture of him (1971) and he seems a bit more fitting now ;)
heh, no worries mate, the guy just seems to fit Thom as he is in the books, i have no clue what he used to look like lol
He's perfect 4 this role. He could also be acting as Elyas Machera. But that's just me I don't know what u say about that.
I agree. Donald is the perfect choice for Thom, although, as GreenEye stated, he could also fit the role of Elyas very well.
i think he's be Thom better but thats true
good choice. what about daniel day lewis? hear me out! look at him in there will be blood and make the m-stache longer.
idunno i cant really picture him as Tom i always pictured Ian Mckellen as tom myself. mabey cause i started to read WoT a few months after LotR came out but who knows
I always like Donald and Keifer as the Bornhalds...but thats just me
