I'm gonna have to do a writeup on how I set up aliasing on my XP box. I can launch any program with three keystrokes from the run dialogue... Holotone can back me up on this one :)

Keyboard ninja, that kid is.

On the Linux side, I've mapped Ctrl+R to be the launcher for Deskbar, which is like like the windows run dialogue, only waaaaaaay better.
