I live in the bible belt, send my kids to a catholic school, and have never told anyone except my best friends. Not even my current husband knows. When I lived in Florida it was no big deal. But living in Kansas, it's not something you even bring up.


Now you know my dirty little secret.

Sounds like Texas. My husband is a bigger non-believer that I am, but it's not something that you advertise around here, what with all the Bible thumpers.

I wonder, what are the consequences for you when people in your community find out you are not a believer? I wonder why there's fear to be honest about it where you live. What happens to you when they find out? Can you give examples?

I understand completely. my mom is one of those bible thumpers and won't even hear me when I say I don't believe in it.
I'm somewhere between Wiccan and Pastafarian.
