I wanted to vote for this answer, but it's too categorical. Remember, DDT had almost eliminated malaria... (This is just to prove a point, though, I think the DDT scare was false.)

However, *anything* is bit too broad. Thermonuclear sterilization would take a big bite out of malaria, but of course it would kill all the humans as well.
