They cannot watch and babysit every student that attends the college - these women and men are grown adults.

Great answer, I'm sure the college won't object to students arming themselves in order to give security and the local cops a break (babysitters). And I'm sure there is not a policy in place to prevent such measures.

How about we keep lethal weapons out of the hands of people who have over and over demonstrated mental instability.
