That's a lot of spending.
But, well worth it, I'm sure (though I don't know from my own experience).

I had 6 children. I was only able to adopt 4. One foster child was ready to leave home when I was transferred and did not move with us. The other, who had been living with us for almost 2 years out of foster care, was not allowed to move when I was transferred.

So I have 4 children and 3 grandchildren. Grandchildren are our rewards for surviving the teen years......

good and sad together... I guess life will always play tricks on us in some way. As long as we are grateful for the things we have, life will progress to be wonderful and charming with the average portion of pepper and salt. x

Yes. My children were all older children who had had very difficult early years. The teen years were rough. The grandchildren have been a double blessing. The blessing of a child who is loved and wanted. And, the chance for children who were not necessarily treated well to participate in raising children who were loved and who trusted them implicitly and unconditionally. I think that it wasn't until we had the grandchildren that my children understood that they truly had been innocent and did not provoke or deserve or cause any of the abuse or turmoil in their birth families.
