It is simply called "Common tomato"? never heard of it.

dunno.. in germany we call it the common or simple tomato... it most likely has a 'real' name... i will try and find out.

I believe it's the Lycopersicum esculentum

yes thats the species name for tomatoes, over here we have like a thousand different varieties that differ in size, taste. texture, and water content, it get overwhelming

I will see if my Dad kept the original label of the tomato's we have somewhere... we tend to draw them from seeds and the greatgrand tomato's have been bought some time back...
