While I respect Asimov as an intellectual, his literature typically blows.

Yeah I have to agree. Although I loved his robot series, the rest of his work is just pants.

Yikes, I loved the foundation series, and I thought it was very well written. Does that mean it is a signet classic? No, but to say it just blows seems a little over-board. But of course to each his/her own.
