I donât see what the big deal is. So he killed some dogs, they were his he owns them he has the right to do with them as he pleases. I am not saying that he is the most morally correct person. But if I buy a cow for milk, it stops giving up milk I am not going to keep feeding it. That would be a waste of money. I would kill it. What ells are you going to do with it?
Exactly - In fact, I had this same problem just the other day! A strong negro fellow I purchased last week just up and went and broke his ankle on me. Now what good is he to ME, the OWNER, now?
Clearly, I did the only logical thing.

You canât buy people can you? Youâre telling me that an animal and a human being are the same thing. Our culture likes to put "pets" on a higher pedestal then the rest of the animal kingdom but they are all the same and all have as much right to live as any other. So if we have no problem killing thousands of cows a day. Why canât a few dogs die? Now I am against dog fighting but I donât think I have the right to tell others they canât do it.
I'll agree that our culture definitely sends mixed signals about which animals are and aren't ok to slaughter / murder / "harvest", and if that's your point, I'm all on board. The solution, though, isn't "kill 'em all", indiscriminately or otherwise.
And yes, Virginia, there really is a modern-day slave trade:
