i can't tell if they are different colours in the topic pic or not.

They're not different colors EVER. The perceived difference in color occurs because one of Bowie's eyes is permanently dilated, owing to a fight he was in when he was younger. The pic for this answer is one of the better ones as far as displaying the eyes is concerned.

hmmm.

well, i couldn't tell if they were perceptively different colours.

thanks for the info. i didn't know that. we were just talking about it 2 days ago too.
