Not the preferred outcome, but reasonable if used in self-defense.

If someone was determined to kill me, I would take joy in killing them first in self defense, I would probably eat part of them as well, funny though I don't support a death penalty

I've thought through the aspects of killing in self defense -- both with a weapon and without. After a few years in martial arts training, you begin to automatically analyze different tactics for whether they kill or maim or just force submission. After you get out of your prime, the idea of forcing submission becomes more risky. In a life and death struggle, I would have to go for the kill (or probably die). If you really think it through, it's a sobering process. Thankfully, the requirement has never presented itself.

I predict, though, that I would probably puke whether or not I ate my opponent's liver.
