I still think I'd rather fly than be invisible, though.
I'm a total flyer. I forget what the quote from the episode is, but it's something like, "Invisibility if for asthmatic, crouching masturbators."
Hmm, a Zora movie?

I've heard that after the stink of Domino that Hollywood wasn't interested in Zora anymore. I always felt we had a deficit of films about sexy self-made bounty hunters who patrol the American Southwest. I've actually heard suits say that outside of established franchises (Lara Croft and her contemporaries), that the studios don't think a woman could carry an action adventure film by herself.
Unbelievable. I hate how Hollywood has to constantly lope 20 years behind the rest of American culture. Domino did okay on it's opening weekend, but it didn't make it's money back because it was poorly written (Tony Scott bulldozed over a script by Donnie Darko's Richard Kelly) and was cut so sloppily on an AVID deck that an audience couldn't follow left to right action.
Maybe Zora would play better as a low budget, independent feature.
I'm sure you hepcats have already heard that Tina Fey is following up her screenwriting debut on Mean Girls with the adaptation of a This American Life Story.
She's developing the story of Curly Oxide from the episode "My Experimental Phase." For those who don't remember or haven't heard the show, Curly Oxide was a Hasidic Jew who lived in an isolated community in Brooklyn. One night, he chanced upon a local rock star named Vic Thrill. The two became best friends as the Hasid discovered American rock and hip hop, performing alongside Vic as Curly Oxide.
Sacha Baron Cohen is set to play Curly.

That's so neat.
Also, I agree, someone who really cares about stories and cinematography should be making the Zora movie.
It would be cool if someone made a documentary of This American Life. You could have a dramatic reenactment of the Zora story, as well as Squirrel Cop, the "Not What I meant" Monkey-pianting guy, and the Peter Pan production. Though, nothing's ever as funny the second time around, I guess.... Worth a shot, though, as long as we're making low-budget documentaries!
