#5 "Should of" instead of "Should have"  

So common I've seen it in news articles. Sad.

You are retarded. Should've is a contraction of should have. Same goes for Could've and Would've. I hope this doesn't give you an aneurysm, but OUGHTN'T'VE is also a valid contraction. Kooky, ain't it?

Who is retarded? Nobody is saying that "should've," "could've," and "would've" are invalid, nor are we saying that "should have" is invalid. The point is that "should of" is incorrect, as is "could of," and "would of." They are examples of common erroneous expansions of "should've, could've and would've."
Read the posts before replying so you can stop sounding like the real idiot.
