Take religions for example, and how they've all been appropriated as a force to perpetuate twisted political agendas.

1. You don't know all religions.
2. "Whose rule, his religion" can hardly be said to be the case anymore, especially in the country you're from.
3. Were you ironic?
However convenient, as it relieves people of thinking, crass generalization is never appropriate.
Generalisation helps you see certain patterns though.. and all organised religion certainly DO have an awful lot in common. From similarities in the stories and rules we are meant to live by to the ways in which such teachings have been abused over the centuries.
