What Is The Best Audio Editing Software For Linux?
(public topic in Linux Users Grup)
I'm looking for a simple audio editing software package that can handle cut and paste and fade in / fade out - Nothing real fancy. Unfortunately, Audacity, due to it's numerous bugs, just isn't cutting the cheese. Any recommendations out there?

What bugs specifically bother you in Audacity?
Just wondering, I use it occassionally, and haven't really had any problems other than the learning curve. But that's to be expected from an app of this type.
Well, to start there's the one that won't let me listen to any audio because it can't find the engine about half the time. When this happens, the dropdown for selecting a playback engine in Edit > Preferences is completely blank.
Yeah, I have seen that. Though that's not specifically an Audacity problem. It occurs when your desktop manager's sound driver (or some application) doesn't release your sound device quick enough (or at all). Especially if you are using apps that use the OSS emulation in ALSA.
Not sure what the fix is, though I'm trying to find out since VMWare has the same issue.
