You can actually deny your, any Divine essence, simply because no one has yet captured the real meaning of life. Religion was generated at the same time human beings started to bury the dead. They generated some visions and different ways to apprehend their environment and what it means to be a human being. But this doesn't mean there's a Divine Creator somewhere, nor there isn't.
