And I hate it... It's too heavy and the batteries keep running out. I generally plug an optical mouse in when trying to do anything, games or artwork.

If you've got a mouse that seems too heavy, get a better mouse pad. An optical mouse should be on a really hard plastic surface to minimize friction (unlike a mouse with a ball, that needs traction).

It's probably not the weight that bothers you, it's the resistance.

My usb mouse is really good. It's small and works great.
