Regarding commenting on answers:
It would be nice if the comments on each answer were hidden by default, but you could expand and collapse them for just the ones you would like to see. This would maintain the current layout, but still give everyone the ability to comment on particular answers rather than the whole question itself.

The one thing that this service really lacks is a sense of community outside of the Q&A core part of the site. I suggested user forums, but perhaps there is a better way to build community. Community builds more reason to revisit, and although I enjoy seeing new questions and answers, I'm not sure that this in itself is enough on its own to keep me coming back.

As features are implemented, it may be a good idea to "unvote" that answer so that the next generation of improvements can rise to the top...
