It might also be cool so see the current status of how many people are on the site. I have seen this on forums. Stats such as:
People on Grupthink: 1000000
Members on Grupthink: 100000
etc.
I don't necessarily need to know WHO voted for answers I've added, but since we get points for people voting on our answers, it would be nice to see which answers received votes.
I can imagine cases where you might want to add an answer to a question, without being assiciated with it (forever). I often add answers for other people, without voting on them.
I've always been amazed at how much information humans are able to garner from one glance at a well-done visualization. The large database of questions and answers, if grouped interestingly and evaluated on specific scales could make for some interesting visualizations.
As an example, each question could be plotted in 3d space. Seperating each axis +-x, y, x we have six different paths a question could take. Considering combinations of three different axes that are adjacent, we have eight different quadrants a question may lie in. The color, size, symbol, or orientation of the question could give further information.
It would be aesthetically pleasing as well as providing some interesting information about the nature of questions on grupthink if done well. The same process could be done for answers of particularly popular questions.
This would allow you to see who posted each answer to a question at a glance without having to click through. Would be a good way to more quickly identify favorite grupies.
As grupthink ages, some questions that were very unique, good, or drew lots of attention will be forgotten. What determines a 'classic' question could be determined by votes.
How about notification of new questions based on a list of tags? So if you had a tag say 'cars' whenever someone adds a new question with the tag 'cars' you get notified. Or maybe you just get a daily summary.
There are way too many new grupies with 10 points (for signing up) that are creating topics that A) don't make sense B) don't have pictures or C) are dupes. Setting a minimum point level before posting a topic (and possibly a new answer) should discourage a lot of the nonsense that is becoming a bigger problem each day on Grupthink.
Hard to describe since we don't yet know what Grupie points will buy, but I could see them becoming a sought-after currency, perhaps even with real-world purchasing power.
With all the new improvements to Grupthink, don't forget to visit this topic and unvote for improvements that have been implimented and Create new answers for things you would like to see happen -- :-)
I'm new here and I think that more paticipation would improve this site. I love the concept but after being a member for a couple of days I am a little dissapointed because I've seen most of the topics and answered and/or voted for those subjects that I found interesing and when I go to the site now the first topics on the front page have hardy any answers or new questions, most of them say; "- 13 hours ago" - "15 hours ago" - "18 hours ago" and some even "2 days ago".
That looks like this site is not busy and has little traffic/members. I find that quite odd because I love the concept and believe this site can be just as popular as "Digg" or "Stumbleupon" and the like.
I think that This site needs promotion in many sorts of ways, I think that more traffic and participation would be the biggest improvement this site needs.
the main thing is needed to do that is marketing the site in a proper way. then the shape of the site also need to improve.

One of the biggest mistakes sites make is asking for too much information. Your conversion process may be sale, or it may be a request for information. Either way, don't waste the user's time asking for things you don't need to know. This is, of course, doubly important when it comes to asking for information the user deems private, and that they don't want to give out without good reason. http://www.webpartnergroup.com/
