WARNING: There is no question really
Here in the depths of winter I am already planning my summer outdoor schedule, and I had an idea.
Every full moon in the summer (June-Aug) folks ride through Glacier National Park by moonlight, starting a few hours before sundown going up to Logan pass and coasting down in moonlight.

Now, this would be a great grup photo amirite?, the Alberta grupies, the Montana grupies, and anyone else
I can host TDH and Famousperson at my house

I'm seriously investigating a bike tour through the park for this summer. Hadn't thought about a moonlight run, though. Are grizzlies and black bears more nocturnal or diurnal?
well, crepuscular, but anytime of the day really I guess, they are not really an issue while on the main road on a bike, usually...
Whaddaya say to doing a dry run during the daytime sometime after Going To The Sun road opens up, skrrrriti?
oh yais, we probably should, perhaps regular trips up Lolo to get ready
actually, my ideal trip would be that is possible on a weekend, is ride to Logan, store the bikes and hike to Granite park Chalet http://www.graniteparkchalet.com/ and stay the night, hike out and down the road by moonlight
That sound absolutely splendid - You've stayed at the Chalet before?
How long is the Lolo ride?
Are recumbents suited to long grueling climbs and extended downhill sessions?
I haven't ridden one on a climb (or downhill) as extended as Logan Pass. But I like the uphill performance with low gears and superior leverage of recumbents. Of course, you sit LOW on the bike, and the high downhill speeds might get exciting.
wow, sounds fabulous! if it would be in Europe I'd get myself ready to join. No bears here either.. :-)
