Instead of buying into the wedding industry machine, my partner and i are trying to have an eco-friendly-feminist wedding.
Starting with that big ticket item - the dress. With all the online choices of hemp dresses where is the best place to get one?

Bonnie, as you are in Missoula, I will recommend what my wife did, buy the hemp silk from The Emperor's Clothing and find a local seamstress to make it, it was ideal and not too expensive.
Burley's Mercantile used to order hemp fabric for people- fyi
Maybe Selvedge has some?
Will the Bridesmaids be wearing Burlap? :)
forgive my ignorance, but those look like balls of twine that feel like burlap... : (
sorry manilaman, your joke was missed by the hemp lovers here some of who had to convince their folks, "No, mom, she will not be wearing a burlap sack, its hemp silk, duh."
For what it's worth(from the type of person that would get an environmentally UNfriendly wedding dress cause pretty is important) I thought it was funny.
Bet you'll look great on your big day no matter what, congrats!
with a name like manilaman, your ignorance is inexcusable...
Touche!
The name 'Manila' has a special meaning. The original name was "MayNilad". It was the name of the pre-colonial Moslem settlement. Already before the Spaniards came to May Nilad, the place was a small but prosperous trading port. The name means: 'where the blossoming water plants grow'.
If only the rivers around this city were still so beautiful. . .
interesting..
*I* was ignorant to the additional history. I was merely referencing "manila hemp", which, technically isn't true hemp; many view it as the cheaper, inferior "knock-off" of cannabis hemp.
recycled sari silk could also work.
