Are there any Universal Myths that show more than Appropriation?

There are one or two myths that appear to be universal but this could be nothing more than a signal telling us that there was some form of appropiation. Answers can include types of Myths and Legernds such as Creation stories etc.
If giving a type please give a detailed account and offer one that seems to have a similar theme but which is original in content if available. The Japanese creation account for example.
