Why being a TV showgirl is so appealing for a young woman?

Why a man likes TV showgirls, it's obvious, today seems there's no tv show without some scantly glad hotties dancing around, giggling and teasing.
The fact is: no one points a gun to a young girl head and force her to be a showgirl. But what makes for a girl so appealing a career that's really, but really shortlived, only in 1/100 of cases gives her a free ticket for a true modelling career or acting, and in the most of the cases makes her just remembered as a big pair of boobs on a calendar?
