Georgia Conflict. Where do you lay the blame?

Yet again world leaders talk of peace. But as mortal human beings, with to much testosterone and power, the probability is that they will set the stage to engage in yet another conflict that further threatens global peace & economic stability.
The likes of NATO and the United Nations are largely as impotent as ever' for obvious reasons.

Look what I came across: http://europebusines...pics-and.html
I don't trust the direction these so called leaders could take us in either, but for me it's because they are mortal human beings with to much testosterone and power. And not a wide enough range of life experience to understand different points of view.
Eraneo,
They got us. The New World Order idea is VERY real. It has it's positive aspects... But much like abortion I would not sacrifice a life to pursue my ideal vision of how life SHOULD be.
May those with the biggest teeth win, and dominate the world to fight each other while I rest in peace with the forgotten Native Americans.
Goliath
I see the world as it is and want to enjoy what I can from it but otherwise opt out of the gadarene rush to destruction. Up a mountain, up a tree, the Man and his ways a way from me. Bliss.
Anyone who believe this conflict is legitimate is a fool. Better to discard this and go find your own news... instead of them delivering it to your door.
Goliath: OK, you think that this conflict is not legitimate.
May I ask you why it is not legitimate and from whose point of view it is not legitimate?
Conversely, from whose point of view is it legitimate and why do they think so?
What do you think is the Russian reasoning for doing what they are doing and what is the reasoning of the Georgians?
Is it simply geographical territorial claims?
May be it is a national status thing - Russian passport holders in South Ossetia?
Perhaps it is that the Russians want to get hold of the pipelines that run through Georgia to the south?
Could it be that the Russians feel panicked that the US is offering NATO membership and friendship to Russian satellites that used to be in the USSR?
Could it be a mixture of these things?
Is it something else entirely?
I think these are the sort of questions that need answering before one should assert that the conflict is illegitimate. Legitimacy and illegitimacy always depends on a point of view in human affairs. We are emotionally subjective beings in many respects. Objective reality is just not fitted to anything other than observable scientific fact - it ends there. So, I think you could usefully support and defend your assertion that the conflict is illegitimate from your point of view, whilst demonstrating that you understand why others might feel it differently. Do you really think that the people who are involved in this conflict are fools? For example, Putin is at the centre of it and there is plenty of evidence that he is a very talented person who is far from being a fool. You might call him evil or misguided (depending on your point of view), but a fool?
Thoralby: The news tells me 1001 things. The only news source I believe most of the time is www.democracynow.org.
They can only cover so much and I can only listen to so much.
Wasn't Vlademir Putin just hanging out with George Bush less than 8 months ago in the U.S.?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/in_pictures/6261100.stm
On April 5th wasn't Bush looking at the setting sun with Putin in a foreign land? http://www.whitehous...121-759v.html
Isn't Georgia backed by the U.S.?
AND wasn't the "Red Threat" bullsh*t? After we found out that Russians were people just like us that liked to play the saxophone and defect?
Where is peoples sense of rhythm??? Here is a WHOLE NEW FEAR/conflict with a VERY PROFITABLE OUTCOME for the U.S.... oh no... some random war didn't just start in New Zealand... Australia... or Bimini... But...
Right by the Caspian sea. To run and connect pipelines of course.
Putin and Bush in fact any politicians will fall on each other and pledge eternal friendship in the morning and try to shoot each other after lunch. It is the way of politicians to be devious, untrustworthy scum. So pretending to enjoy a sunset together is an easy one to fake. But they are still not fools - OK Bush is a bit of a twat, but he has advisers - puppet masters if you like - who yank his strings. In fact, I think that the US establishment really prefers a twat for President - someone who is too clever might start thinking for himself and challenging the received wisdom. Clever Presidents get killed - funny thing that.
