Restock my iPod. I'm in a rut.

Like a lot of people, I hit a musical rut when I turned 30, got married, and had kids. Nowadays my listening habits run toward the Wiggles and Dan Zanes -- stuff my kids like. I listen to nothing for pleasure anymore.

Music was once very important to me. In fact I was/am a musician. Yet when I do buy CDs or downloads, I lean toward the familiar: New albums by bands I already know I like, old songs that complete a collection, etc.

I don't have time to read music magazines or websites. So I'm counting on you to recommend albums and singles, preferably stuff created since 2000. I'm open to anything (well, almost), but below are a few of my favorite bands. I definitely lean toward "arty" punk rock and "edgy" country/folk.
