Re-cast Mama Mia the movie, with younger (more realistic) actors.

I just saw the movie Mama Mia. Did the casting director have troubles with basic math? If Donna, the lead character, was young enough to have her parents kick her out when she got pregnant, then 21 years later shouldn't be around 40, instead of pushing 60? What were they thinking?
