If we wanted to help build leadership in a niche for our town, what would that niche look like? Missoula already has some renown for it's art and creative community. It has a very dense number of non-profits. Is there a synergy here that technology could help? [show less]
Podcasting can be simple and cheap, and a great way to engage your members in the mission of the organization. It would be an interesting discussion to find out how the overall mood/attitude of Missoula, or just being rural, helps/hinders technology.
An example may be how programming methodologies differ in companies around Missoula compared to big tech companies in the larger cities. Some places maybe have really relaxed shops that may have led to increased creativity. Others may be trying so hard to emulate big companies that they shoot themselves in the foot.
That's just one example. Another might be how tech companies around here have to differ their sales/interactions with other companies because so many clients are not local as opposed to larger cities where you could possibly have 200-2000 clients within 5 square miles. [show less]

Looks like there are several Drupal fans in the region. Let's have a linux style install-fest or show and tell session. There's little Drupal can't do without a little coaxing. Bring a portable LAMP/WAMP (Apache, PHP, MySQL) setup, or hosting account control panel and let's play.

We'll take a look at the theory behind this, such as Constructionism, Appreciative Inquiry, The Core Protocols, and StoryCorps.
How can we get better at social creation? How can we best support our organizations to best support the mission? What's the best technology to collect, amplify, and synthesize this collective creation process? [show less]
