Someone needs to beat Robert Jordan with a "Keep the plot on track stick."

Something's wrong here. Neil Gaiman is nearly in the top ten, yet I actually had to add Clive Barker. Gaiman wouldn't have a career if Barker hadn't have come before and done it better, paving the way. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Neil Gaiman. I just don't understand why Clive Barker has gone so long with no recognition, no popularity, no notice. He's amazing. His influence is everywhere. Will he ever achieve the status he deserves as one of the best pop writers of our generation? He's certainly better than Dan Brown and Ann Rice, could write circles around John Grisham and Michael Crichton. Dean Koontz?—no contest, my high school English teachers could write better novels than him. I just don't get it.

dude,
Dan Brown's mere presence on this list is an indication that there is no accounting for taste

I did a quick search because I thought that maybe there was a Dan Brown I wasn't aware of. A talented Dan Brown.

Nope.

Oh man, I'd love to see that link.

As I recall, GT gave us an informal cease & desist on behalf of Mr. Brown. But maybe if you're REALLY nice, me or Skrrrriti could dig it up.
