What are some technical books that you felt were extremely informative, and that you would recommend others in your respective fields read?

Feel free to post a technical book from any web/software field. Database Design, PHP, Java, DHTML ect.. ect..

2.	5 votes 93 pts	Head First Design Patterns An amazing book in the awesome "Head First" series. A great way to install design patterns into your brain making them readily accessible. The other head first books are worth checking out. So is Kathy Sierra's blog, http://headrush.typepad.com/, a great place for brain food. 1 Comment

7.	3 votes 59 pts	Object Oriented Software Construction One of the best books I have ever read on the subject of Object Oriented programming. It is written in Eiffel, but the author leads you through everything step by step, principle by principle. He starts very abstractly, mathematical level then leads you into the detail. You will have no trouble applying what you learn to Java or VB.NET or C++. Discuss
8.	2 votes 40 pts	Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs A must read for programmers of any style. The language used is Scheme, but the concepts are far-reaching. I wish I'd read this book a lot earlier. Discuss
9.	2 votes 39 pts	The Design of Everyday things by Donald A Norman. Perhaps not the first choice of everyone, but anyone who is involved in user interface design should read this book. A superb work on design as a concept, and what makes a design great (and what makes it awful). Learn why you push doors that need to be pulled open, and vice-versa. Highly recommended! You'll never think of anything you handle in the same way. Discuss
