Groundswell was started in December of 1993 in Missoula, Montana. Through the ambition of 5 young friends, Tal Connor, Aran Buzzas, G, Mason Stone and Nathan Stephens. While at different ages in life; middle school to high school, the bond between one another was and is to this day very strong.

One day we all met for our first practice in Tal's parents basement. Although most of us did not know how to even play instruments, some how we were scheduled for our first gig within a month. We never really managed to ever sound good, (some may disagree), but we had fun and being bad was entertainment in itself.

This summer 2005, we had the pleasure of reuniting after 9 years of not playing together, for Aran's wedding. While some of us still were not playing, we were able to sound better then when we were younger.

Groundswell Lives!

Not only a phenominal Blues guitarist, but a Ph.D candidate in Plant Physiology, and for those other dorks out there, his father is THE Charles David Keeling, famous for creating the "Keeling Curve" and sparking the modern theory of anthropogenic elevation of atmospheric CO2 concentrations. Texas born and raised, Amanda Cevallos, singer, songwriter, guitarist, and dancer, depicts her sweet and personal dreams and life events through her folk and country songs. Amanda Cevallos grew up listening to old country legends such as Hank Williams, Sr., Merle Haggard, and Willie Nelson along with rock and roll icons like Buddy Holly. Amanda was also influenced by great female vocalists including Tracy Chapman, Crystal Gayle, Natalie Merchant, and Annie Lennox, but mostly by Selena Quintinilla of whom Amanda was a devoted fan seeing Selena in concert more than 20 times before Selenas tragic murder. In 1997, Amanda wrote her first country song, How Could You Let Me Say Goodbye. Interested in any musical endeavor, Amanda collaborated with Houston underground rappers writing hooks and singing backup. Here she learned she wanted to write and record her own music, "so I knew I had to play the guitar," says Amanda. She returned to her early influences; Amanda's guitar playing debuted to Hank Williams, Sr.'s, "Cold, Cold Heart," which she also learned to sing. Her interest in old country music is the foundation for her journey into song writing and composition. Amanda started recording music in 2005 with the aid of producer and friend Casey Schaefer, in Missoula, Montana. Her first recording, "Tell Me," gave her the confidence to bring other songs out of her notebook and give them life in the studio resulting in her new CD "Rainy Day." Dont miss the release of this new album!
