Which fonts are best for on-screen reading?

This question is not "what is the coolest font," but which font works best for reading text of any size on the computer screen. Only fonts pre-installed on a majority of computers - Mac and Windows - should be included in the answers.

If your answer isn't already below, please upload font samples from http://www.identifont.com for the most consistent images.
