I want to change the world. But how?

Avatar Image   Started by istair istair has 690 Grupie Points 2 years ago         Comments 8 Comments

I am so disappointed with the way the world seems to be heading and would love to do something about it. I think that by asking other people, there might be some sort of really great discussion that could begin out there. I honestly am at a lack for finding any answers to this question, but it seems to be the most important one to me. Please help.

I mean positively. bombing is for fascists. If you have any helpful ideas that would be nice. I think sarcasm is unfortunately one of the problems we are suffering from. Do you have anything positive to offer instead?

Sorry for the sarcasm istair. I am tried of folks asking how to “change the world.” This question lacks direction. How do you want to change the world? What is your definition of better? More churches, less churches, less carbon dioxide emissions? First define how you want to specifically change it, and then we can get to some good discussion. Do you want to change the world for one person (easier), or for all of humanity (harder as an individual)? I personally would like to see some institutions get bombed (without people in them of course), so if you ask a large faceless group broad questions as such, be prepared for many different answers.

Skritch, I guess it is a very open-ended question as there are many problems. I guess I will try and focus and address one at a time. First, we live in a country controlled by corporate corruption and small think tanks which make our policy decisions for us. How do we change this?

I think the guy who volunteers to help a local charity does more to change the world than probably all the questions on Grupthink. Action usually accomplishes more than words.
