This Book Album was totally full of artwork that still evokes certain ironic emotions in me today in its almost creepy relevance to the state of the world today (see US policy at home and abroad), yesterday (see Berlin), and tomorrow (Mother, will you put me in the foreign line?)

It's a space ship that looks like a guitar. This was awsome in 1976.

Wow there are some really crappy answers to this topic, did some people just list albums from there favourite band or something?

Gaz nailed it. Well "In any genre, from any period" is a great comment to make to people, but apparently they ignored it and just added their favorite old albums that everyone knows about. A lot of these are great, but I think some people here need musical awakenings. How about Bill Frisell's "Blues Dream", an ominous thought-provoking scene, or his "Gone, Like a Train" featuring Jim Woodring's artwork? Two excellent album arts, completely looked over because no one goes past the top 40. It definitely could have replaced some undeserving ones on this list. Oh, and his music is excellent as well. Wake up, people.

How is it possible that "Nothing's Shocking" by Jane's Addiction is only #152?

Some day, reading comprehension skills will be learned and topics like "what is the best cover album" will not be merged into "what is the best album cover."

Until then, I will continue to feel contempt for humanity. Granted, I'll likely not stop when that comes to pass, but it's absolutely certain that I'll not stop before such.

Why are there so many dupes for answers? Abbey Road, Boston, etc. Can anyone fix this?
