Heathrow Airport plot foiled? Your views.

I'm sure by now we have all heard about Heathrow Airport and the alleged attempt to attack over seas flights from there. Normally I wouldn't post such a topic, but I feel like this time it could affect someone I know and love. I got home a couple days before all this started, but my brother and good friend are still there, and have flights scheduled from Heathrow airport around the time they suspected the attacks would occur. Until I realized this fact, and I hate to admit it, I was complaining that this was just another ridiculous stepping stone to preventing me to bring my book on board a flight. Now I think my opinion has changed. But what are your views of the new protocols instituted? Now we are no longer allowed liquids, creams or gels on board the plane (with the exception of documented medication and baby formulas).Or how do you feel about the attempted attacks? Do you think there really was a plan?

I heard that the final attack order came from Pakistan. This pretty close to where Osama is supposed to be. They say the attack would have come in a few days.

People need to not put so much crap in carry-ons

I think it is safe to say that only bombers and Macgyver need shampoo (and etc.) while on a plane. No problem if that stuff is in the hold.
