Scientific research is always supplying new information, so being against Pluto's demotion is sort of like being against a "round world" or gravity. In short, yes: kick Pluto to the curb.

We as humans often don't like "change".

examples- Flat world to round world; Vikings vs. Columbus; Women's right to vote; Men as "stay at home" dads; did these changes come easy? They changed pluto...ok...that makes them feel like they have purpose in life:) anyway, maybe in the long run we will agree, maybe not. ah, freedom

it's not a demotion, it's more of a reclassification. i think it came down to either make several dozen more objects into "Planets" or make Pluto something else. does it really matter what it is anyway?
