Lolo peak looks better without a lift.

Snowbowl needs some competition, and I'd ski it if there was a lift.

the consistently warmer winters tells me that building a ski area right around the Missoula Valley is a fool's idea.

And Maclay (the "landowner") claims water rights to the lake at the top of the drainage, Carleton Lake, I believe. There is a dam that he maintains, uses the water for irrigation - that's why the dam was constructed 60, 80 years ago (whenever.) BUT NOW, and this is the point of this post, he wants to use the water in the lake for SNOWMAKING...because HE'S GONNA NEED A LOT OF SNOW due to the "consistenly warmer winters" mentioned in agoodhope's comment above.

Hahaha, with "consistently warmer winters" it's going to be tough to make snow no matter how much water you have. He may as well build a water park.
