How can we prevent idiots from ruining Grupthink?

A quick glimpse at Yahoo! Answers reveals that the vast majority of posts are illiterate and pornographic. Nothing wrong with smut, but stupidity is unacceptable. As Grupthink gains in popularity, how can it avoid a similar fate? Or are there already mechanisms in place?

Other sites that are dedicated to one subject are boring since all the members share like opinions. The worst thing that can happen to grupthink is that members are discouraged from returning. The quickest way to discourage someone is to censor their opinion. The attempt by some grupies to discourage some members from posting is this site’s biggest threat. The point about it is that anyone should be able to say anything they like on any subject and others should be able to reply in a quiet way, a ranting way or any other way they damn well choose. I know that in Grupthink there is a tendency for some of you to feel superior and that somehow you are special and the real Grupies, whilst everyone else is somehow "less than". That makes me sick and I want to rattle your smug little heads against a hard wall. The thing is I should be allowed to say this even if you are shocked or annoyed or you think I am insane. It doesn't matter. The net should be one place where smug little fuckers cannot turn a site like this into their own little fiefdom. But leave it that way. If you attempt to censor this site any more than you are attempting to already, then this site will die and it will deserve to do so. Ha! This is a great question and a hard one to answer. I think, in a sense, you can't stop it from happening to a certain extent, but I think the grupthink community--via voting for posts and comments and feedback on comments, etc.--can self-police to the extent that while idiots can't be shut out, they won't be able to take over. But that screenshot of Yahoo answers is comedy gold--and sad too boot.

Thanks, and keep the ideas coming. The sad thing is I didn't have to search for very long to find that Yahoo! screenshot. It was on the homepage.
