Cursive Worthwhile or Worthless?

So I was helping my brother with cursive this weekend. And I had no clue how to write some cursive letters, like capital Q. So what do you think?

Good to know, but by no means essential.

I used it for years, but now I write solely with small-caps (i.e. blueprinting text). Much faster for me, easier to read (by both human and machine), but looks a little shabbier than those who are very adept with cursive. Your grandma probably has impeccable handwriting - am I right?

Very Useful, period.

In truth I do use it in hand writing, though it is a mixture of print and cursive.

I've not even heard the word cursive in about 20 years.

A bit outdated, cursive, though I imagine there are people in the world who'd punch me in the face for saying so. Old, old people.

I'm forgetting how. I only write checks in cursive.

And its taking me forever and I keep messing up.

I didn't look at the wiki link, but that teach D'Nealian handwriting here before cursive.

It would be nice if I actually read what I wrote, I suppose.
They teach D'Nealian at our schools before cursive.

Last week my daughter, who's in 2nd grade, had to start doing their
spellilng words in cursive. I usually write out the word neatly in pen, with number 1-5 below it for her to copy in pencil. I had to keep re-doing the list this week because I found it hard to remember to add all those damn loops. Really, other than your L's, does anyone still put loops on their h's, p's d's? does anyone still write a cursive small b the way we were taught in school?

Hmm, maybe that can be the next topic "do you still write the way you were taught in school?"
