Excedrin Migraine early on

and then try to sleep it off. That usually avoids most of the pain for me. You MUST catch it early though, or it doesn't help much at all.

According to Dr. House in "Distractions": It acts on seratonin receptors and will stop a migraine in it's tracks, then anti-depressants will short-circuit the trip.

Marijuana

Cannabis, or marijuana, has been used for centuries for both symptomatic and prophylactic treatment of migraine. It was highly esteemed as a headache remedy by the most prominent physicians of the age between 1874 and 1942, remaining part of the Western pharmacopoeia for this indication even into the mid twentieth century. Current ethnobotanical and anecdotal references continue to refer to its efficacy for this malady, while biochemical studies of THC and anandamide have provided a scientific basis for such treatment.

Migrane tablet, lot of drink and bed, sleeping in dark room

try to catch it before it gets to any pain. for me it starts either with a headache, feeling sick or loosing my balance... i have to keep an eye on all three things and try to avoid having two together... i take a tablet when i get a hint of it and mostly i can avoid greater harm... once i have it only dark and sleep will help me... i cant even lie down then. i have to sit beside the bed with my arms and head on the bed or i will puke. confused a late bedgoer now and then when neither I nor duvet was to be found even though I HAD to be in the room somewhere :)

CHOCOLATE

I also decided at that point that I had a craving for chocolate, so I had two squares of dark chocolate. The migraine was almost totally gone within a half hour. I searched online and found out that chocolate contains magnesium, which is good for migraines, plus it elevates serotonin; low serotonin is thought to cause some migraines.

Demerol 50mg and Phenergan 25mg IVP Q4H

I don't know how well it takes away the pain, but it certainly knocks out the patients long enough for them not to notice for awhile

This works better than the heavy drugs, at least for me

Toradol 10 - 20 mg and is also affordable. $1 per pill.

Also, Lortabs if severe enough. Imitrex doesn't seem to help much during a migraine, but helpful if you can catch it before it takes off. Othere wise the toradol and lortab are winners for sure!
